W:Wait a minute. The Chinese restaurant, the National Bank. There it is! The Radisson Hotel.
Text 4
M:Hurry up, Jenny. It’s already 7:00. We'll be late for the film!
W:Don t worry, dear. We still have 20 minutes, and it takes us only 15 minutes to get there. We’ll be there
just in time.
Text 5
W:I’m going to ask the neighbors to turn the music down. I can’t bear the noise.
M:Do you really think it makes any difference to them? They’re always ignoring.
Text 6

M:Your garden looks great!
W:Thanks. It is due to the good weather this year.
M:What are you growing?
W:Some flowers, but mostly vegetables. I have planted carrots, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and
cucumbers. And I also have two apple trees.
M:Sounds good. You can make fresh salads all summer.
W:That’s the plan. I love making fresh salads.
M:Any trouble with ants?
W:The ants aren’t too bad, but there are a lot of spiders. Would you like some vegetables to take home
with you?
M:That would be great. Thanks!
W:No problem. Why don’t you pick some of the tomatoes? And I’ll get you some cucumbers.
M:No, thanks. I don’t care for cucumbers. If you want any help with the garden, let me know.
W:Ok. Thanks for the offer.
Text 9
W:Well, Tim. It seems that you’re not getting enough sleep. You always have dark circles under
your eyes.
M:I think I get as much as an average person.
W:Well, an average person needs about seven hours of sleep per night.
M:Really? Well, in that case, … I’m not quite there. I'd say I’m a good two hours short of that
every night.
W:You really ought to change your lifestyle. Sleep is one of the most important things. Many
studies have shown that people who get at least eight hours of sleep every night are happier.
M:Well, the main reason is that my two young kids go to bed pretty late and wake up rather early,
and I have a lot of work to catch up on in the evenings.
W:Tim, I think you should try to get your work done during the day.
M:You’re right, doctor. I’ll make some changes. I promise.

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to France. We are about to visit a most romantic city, Paris, and it is always attracting tourists like you all through the world every year. Please sit back and relax. Now, let me tell you something about our trip. We’ll take a bus ride and then a boat to Paris. We will arrive at the Ibis in the evening, which is a four-star hotel, a perfect location for us to get out and explore Paris.
Tomorrow, after breakfast, we will take you on a sightseeing tour of the city, during which you will see the Eiffel Tower, a most famous building you have ever heard of. We then leave Paris and take a short drive to the Palace of Versailles, the home of Louis XIV.
Our tour ends in the mid-afternoon back in Paris, where you will have the rest of the day to do some shopping, enjoy some local food or explore a bit on your own. In the evening there is a “Paris By Night” tour to show you some of Paris’s most beautiful buildings with bright lights.
