阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出较佳选项。

Researchers at Intel Security carried out a study of 1,000 parents in the UK that made up part of the research.More than 40 per cent said they were completely unaware of their children’s activity online.
“Technology has revolutionized our home lives, with many parents relying on devices(设备) to help their children with learning and entertainment.”said Nick Viney,VP of Consumer at Intel Security.“However,we need to enable parents to actively manage how their families interact with those devices,to ensure the benefits continue to outweigh the potential risks.”
As one of the world’s largest and highest valued semiconductor chip makers,Intel is urging parents to follow their series of tips if they are worded about what their kids might be up to on the Internet.
Start conversations early:If you start talking about online safety early,it will make your job that much easier when your children get older. If your kids are young, start with simple rules like:“don’t open emails from people you don’t know.”You want online safety to be part of normal behavior.
Set a good example:Set a positive example by limiting your time on social networks when at home and putting your phone away during dinner and family time.
Keep strangers out:Most children have been using devices from all early age, desensitizing them to the potential risks of online behavior. A false sense of security can set in for children and they could be unknowingly interacting with a dangerous person posing as a teen. This isn’t just on social media networks;it applies to common services such as Uber,Lyft and Craigslist.Remind kids that anyone can create a profile and to decline friend requests from strangers.
Take control of your home network:The home network is the center for all of your connected devices.New solutions, such as McAfee Secure Home Platform, help you easily manage and protect devices connected to this network while providing parental controls with permissions that can be tailored to the entire household.

After the summer break,Demi’s children returned to school this month and found a new class added to theft schedules:happiness.
It wasn’t a welcome-back joke.In a country where top universities demand average test scores above 98 percent and where cheating on final high school exams is organized by a“‘mafia”that includes teachers and school officials, the Delhi government’s reform marks a shift of emphasis from student performance to well-being.
“We have given best-of-the-best professionals to industry,”said Manish Sisodia,Delhi’s education minister,“…But have we been able to deliver best-of-the-best human beings to society,to the nation?”
Sisodia’s happiness classes represent a revolutionary experiment in a country known for its rigid, bookish education system, which has helped strengthen a new middle class over the past three decades but is also criticized for encouraging rote(死记硬背的)learning and causing high stress levels.Under the program,1 00,000 Delhi students spend the first half-hour of each school day without opening a textbook, learning instead through inspirational stories and activities,as well as meditation(冥想)exercises.
Some teachers, though, remain unconvinced. For one thing, they say,the public schools are too crowded for a curriculum based so heavily on classroom interaction.Others doubt that the happiness classes can change the culturally entrenched(根深蒂固的)emphasis on exams and memorization.Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, chair of education, economics and international development at University College London, said that there haven’t been any studies to assess theft workability.“Anecdotally,I know in some schools they are just another box-ticking exercise,”she said.
28.Why does the schools in Delhi add a new curriculum?
A.To make the class livelier.
B.To welcome the students back.
C.To prevent cheat on exams.
D.To emphasize the education of well-being.
29.What can we infer from Manish Sisodia’s words?
A.India has the best education in the world.
B.India has cultured the best human beings to society.
C.India is not good at educating professionals.
D.India’s education system is imperfect.
30.Which of the following best explains“rigid”underlined in paragraph 4?
A.vivid B.flexible C.stubborn D.exciting
31.What’s Geeta Gandhi Kingdon’s opinion on the new curriculum?
A.She thinks it helps to change the present situation.
B.She thinks it works well in the schools.
C.She thinks some schools don’t take it seriously.
D.She thinks students will benefit from it.

The northernmost part of the earth is warming two to three times faster than the rest of the planet. This means the melting sea ice is opening new routes for shipping. The melting ice has cleared space through the historically dangerous Northwest Passage, and the Northern Sea Route, along Russia’s northern coast. This has sharply increased shipping in what was once a largely untouched ocean.
Hauser,a biologist, said she was interested in studying the possible threat to Arctic marine mammals from shipping. She said her hope was to protect both these animals and the people who depend on them.
The study found that narwhals and other whales were most at risk to ship traffic during the late summer.Polar bears were on the contrary, with walruses and seals in between.
These findings did not surprise the researchers.Narwhals and belugas are used to living in an extremely quiet world. The noise of ice-breaking boats and other ships is extremely unsettling to marine mammals. That underwater noise is a disturbance for marine mammals, especially different whale species that rely on sound pretty much to do everything.Furthermore, they have more contact with ships in the Northwest Passage, which receives more shipping than the Northern Sea Route. This means they are the most at risk of all the Arctic marine mammals.
Polar bears, however, seem to be the most ready to deal with shipping during September. At that time of year, polar bears tend to be either on land or they followed the pack ice north. This means they did not have contact with the same level of noise as the marine mammals like whales and seals. They also,Hauser notes, are not as sensitive to noise from ships.“They don’t use sound in the same way as the other marine mammals do,”she said.
In order to help protect marine animals, the researchers suggest requiring ships to move at slower speeds to reduce the chance of striking. They also proposed a limit on the amount of noise ships can make. They say that it is unrealistic to try and stop people from using Arctic passageways. However,by understanding which animals are at risk, researchers can help plan for the future.
32.Why did Hauser’s team conduct the research?
A.To study the effect on the mammals brought by the new shipping route.
B.To learn the situation of melting ice.
C.To study the life style of mammals.
D.To learn the effect caused by global warming.
33.Which of the following is the least in danger?
A.Narwhals B.Polar bears C.Walruses D.Seals
34.Which is NOT the reason for whales being most at risk to ship traffic?
A.They are sensitive to noise.
B.They depend more on sound to do things.
C.They have more contact with ships.
D.The can’t see the ship clearly.
35.What suggestions do the researchers give to protect marine mammals?
A.To stop ships using the passageways.
B.To reduce the activity of people in Arctic area.
C.To reduce the speed and noise of the ship.
D.To change the living environment of the mammals.
